Was Harry and Meghan’s 9/11 Memorial Page on Their Archewell Offensive?

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Harry and Meghan Markle changed their Archewell website to a black screen featuring the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died that terrible Tuesday. But while it’s understandable that they might want to commemorate the day, Meghan is an American after all, but is it also rather offensive?

Since moving to the United States, Harry and Meghan have done nearly everything that they can to bring attention to themselves. This is especially true of their philanthropic efforts.

Every single “charitable” endeavor is usually accompanied by some sort of social media post or news article, which is likely done at the couple’s behest. Even for rather paltry donations.

If they provide a donation, the organization receiving the money is required to publicly acknowledge their good deed.

When Afghanistan was falling apart, the world was apparently waiting with bated breath to see what the two would say about the unfolding tragedy.

Nothing is ever done quietly or without public promotion.

So, is this latest 9/11 page the same?

Perhaps it’s just me, but I found the display rather distasteful.

There’s nothing wrong with the couple commemorating, but a simple “We Remember” would have been better than using the names of the dead in order to bring attention to themselves.

Why name the victims?

The couple aren’t the Duke and Duchess of America nor do they represent the U.K. anymore. They’re just private citizens. Wouldn’t it have been better to share with the world something simple or maybe not share anything at all.

But of course, they have to share. Even if this was done with the best intentions, they are so focused on themselves and trading off their royal connections that it’s difficult to not see anything they do as altruistic.

They consider themselves the royals of America, and they can continue to act like they are royals that represent America. No one really cares about their opinions on things. They’re just glorified influencers at this point.

They have produced one documentary, which was picked apart not for content but Harry’s revelations, and they also participated in one major interview with Oprah Winfrey.

At this point, that’s all they’ve done.

But they think that the world cared so much about their opinions, that they released a rambling, word salad statement on Afghanistan.

And now, they are using the victims of 9/11.

Murky Meg also pointed out that Harry and Meghan harvest names and information from every person who visits their website so they can sell the data to the highest bidder.

If they make any money off those names, then they rightly deserve commendation.

The tragedy of 9/11 shocked the world, and those that died deserve more respect that Harry and Meghan making a quick buck.
