Prince William is taking an increasingly active role in the future of the monarchy, most notably determining that Prince Andrew would have no further role as a working member of the royal family. He’s working diligently to protect the monarchy for him and his children. This is bad news for Harry and Meghan.

The two years have not been easy for the British royal family. From Prince Andrew’s disastrous comments on his relationship with Jeffery Epstein to Megxit and Harry and Meghan’s subsequent damaging allegations of racism in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, it has felt like the monarchy is under its greatest threat. 

But Prince William is trying to do what he can in order to get the House of Windsor back in order. 

In regard to Prince Andrew, William has determined that the Duke of York will never again resume his royal duties and remains a threat to the royal family.

This is due to the continuing fallout from the Duke’s relationship with convicted pedophile and human trafficker Jeffery Epstein, and allegations that Andrew himself may have engaged in a sexual relationship with an underage young woman who was being trafficked. He is currently facing a lawsuit from Virginia Giuffre over allegations that he essentially sexually assaulted her.

Removing Andrew is smart, but as the Queen allegedly continues to fund his legal efforts to defend his name, he continues to pull the family into disrepute.

Now the interesting thing will be to see how Prince William deals with Harry and Meghan Markle.

Though they have publicly said they stepped away from the royal family, they constantly use their titles in order to drum up media attention and grow animosity within the family.

Her Majesty has let the situation fester, but Prince William may be pushing for more decisive action at some point, including potentially removing the title the Duke of Sussex from his brother and sister-in-law. He could even remove Harry and his children from the line of succession. 

That would be a horrific blow to the California-based couple, who have done as well as they have up until this point by trading off Harry’s family name and connections. Without that precious title, will Harry and Meghan have as much sway in Hollywood? Maybe, but maybe not.

Unfortunately, due to the unsubstantiated allegations of racism made against the royal family, Prince William and also Prince Charles have to approach the situation carefully. 

Any attempt to remove the titles will result in Harry and Meghan continuing the racism narrative, which has somewhat shielded them from criticism by the public and media. Though that is increasingly wearing thin as the couple continue to trash the institution of the monarchy, while attempting to become pseudo royals with their own court in Montecito.

However, if the Duke and Duchess of Montecito continue down this track of using the monarchy for financial gain, Prince William will step in. There’s no love lost between him and Meghan at this point anyways, and he has to protect his family.

Monarchies across the world have faced a variety of threats in recent years, as scandals have rocked royal families in Spain, Belgium, Sweden and The Netherlands and have resulted in two abdications. 

Prince William doesn’t want that to happen, and he may have to resort to some tough love with Harry and Meghan to secure the throne for himself, Prince George and his future grandchildren.
