Harry and Meghan announced earlier this week that they had become “impact officers” of an ethical investment firm called Ethic. Well, as it turns out, the company isn’t as “ethical as the name implies. In fact, they’re connected to some of the world’s largest business, including Facebook, Google, big pharma and a fossil fuel company.

So, are Harry and Meghan really trying to “save the planet” or are they just in it for themselves and their bank account? It’s difficult to tell, but it definitely seems more like the former than the latter.

When the announcement was first made, Ethic first told the world that they allow their clients to invest their money where they want, stating, “We allow our clients to choose the environmental, social and governance issues that are most important to them and then help them create custom portfolios based on their preferences.

“Your personal portfolio might look different from your family members’ or friends’ that prioritize different things.”

It’s unclear though how a fossil fuel and big pharma companies fits in with that Harry and Meghan’s vision of saving the world.

Corteva, Inc, one of the companies Ethic has invested in, sued the “U.S. after its pesticides were linked to cases of brain damage in children.”

Another company, Baker Hughes, is an oil and gas company with “products and services for oil drilling.”

Based on this report, either Harry and Meghan didn’t do their research or the company they’ve invested their money in is a scam.

Either way, the couple once again look entirely hypocritical and like they do no research on the organizations that they attach themselves and their royal titles too. It damages their brand and by extension the royal family.

This failure of the Sussex team is another example of the reason why Harry and Meghan should be stripped of their titles as soon as possible. Their shoddy business practices are a poor reflection of their future. 

One where they will attach themselves to anyone and any business in order to make as much money as possible.
