HRH Princess Beatrice has welcomed a baby girl, on Saturday September 18. The little girl, who will be 10th in line for the British throne, weighted 6lbs 2oz and arrived at the Chelsea and Westminister Hospital.
In an official announcement, the palace said, “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.”
Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s younger sister, also expressed her joy at the new arrival.
“To my dearest Beabea and Edo, Congratulations on your new angel,” Eugenie, 31, wrote on Instagram along with a selfie of her sister and brother-in-law. “I can’t wait to meet her and I’m so proud of you. We’re going to have so much fun watching our children grow up.”
“To my new niece,” she wrote. “I love you already and think you’re just awesome from the photos.. we’re going to have so much fun together.”
It’s an incredibly sweet statement, and one that comes at the time when their father, Prince Andrew, is embroiled in controversy and facing a potentially lengthy court battle over allegations that he sexually assaulted Virginia Giuffre.
This baby girl, who’s name will likely be given in the upcoming days, is a bright spot in the family after so much controversy and strife.
