It can no longer be argued that Meghan Markle is a fashion icon after her recent appearance at the Salute to Freedom Gala with her husband, Prince Harry. Her choice of design, color and style shows that a title can’t buy a woman class or taste. In fact, this dress is just down right trashy.

The incredibly ugly red dress looks like it was four dresses rolled into one, and none of them were executed well. In particular, the bodice is horrifically put together, with the area around her bust looking terrible and ill-sewn. The dress is also too tight, cutting into her back and making it look incredibly unflattering and highlighting the weight she has been unable to lose so far after baby Lilibet.

It also has a long train, which is too much and doesn’t fit the rest of the dress. She also put more fabric around her mid-section, again highlighting an area she should have tried to conceal. Her hair, which does look good, is too severe for the dress and it seems like her hair represents a much classier version of this dress.

It’s also rather vulgar, with a bunging neckline and a thigh high front split. 

Frankly, it’s just plain ugly. It’s like Meghan took aspects of different dresses, depended on a designer put them all together and nick-picked the design so much that the dress was never fully finished.

Finally, the dress may have worked on Karlie Kloss or Giselle Bunchen, rail-thin models who have the height and charisma to pull off that dress.

But like so many things Meghan tries to wear, it’s an absolute mess and she simply ended up looking trashy and tasteless. 

That Carolina Herrera would even take credit for such an ugly red-carpet appearance is rather shocking. She should be embarrassed.

But Meghan has done this before.

In Morocco on a royal tour she wore a different blue Carolina Herrera dress that was too large for her, incredibly unflattering, meant for a tall model and did not fit her pregnant status in the slightest.

Though Meghan considers herself an intellectual, she’s shallow. She doesn’t have the depth for politics or real style, and instead just goes with the high-profile, expensive designers. As a c-list actress with a small percentage of the budget she has now, she looked a thousand times better.

Perhaps she actually had a decent stylist or maybe it was all her, either way this latest showing demonstrates why she couldn’t make it as a royal. She just doesn’t have the class, grace, sophistication or the taste to be a Duchess, and shows that at best she’s a mediocre actress who caught a dim prince desperate for love.

She has the hustle, but fashion clearly isn’t her strong suit, or her ego is simply too inflated to listen to what the mirror should have screamed at her.

This latest appearance is just another embarrassing display for Meghan, who’s desperation and competitive nature with the royal family shows that she never could compete. She’s low rung, and this dress proves it.
