There are growing questions about whether Meghan Markle ever intended on staying a member of the royal family, and instead was always planning on using her marriage to Prince Harry for other business ventures.

When Meghan and Harry were in the process of getting married, apparently the former actress was encouraged to keep her career if she wanted and to continue acting. 

“In fairness to the royal family, in fairness to the Queen, she did give them that opportunity to go wherever they pleased,” royal biographer Andrew Morton said. “And also, they did say to Meghan, ‘If you don’t want to embrace royal duties full time, please be our guest and continue your acting career.’ Those opportunities were open to her.”

It made sense. As an independent career woman, the royal family knew that the strappings of royal life were something that might be constraining to someone like Meghan. A life outside the royal fold might have been a better option for the couple.

In their engagement interview, the couple were enthusiastic about royal life.

Prince Harry said, “For me, it’s an added member of the family. It’s another team player as part of the bigger team and you know for all of us, what we want to do is be able to carry out the right engagements, carry out our work and try and encourage others in the younger generation to be able to see the world in the correct sense rather than perhaps being just having a distorted view.”

“I think what’s been really exciting as we talk about the transition of this out of my career but into the role is that as you said the causes that have been very important to me, I can focus even more energy on,” Meghan said. 

It’s clear that Meghan was interested in focusing on causes important to her, but without the royal family.

She continued, “Because very early out of the gate I think you realize once you have access or a voice that people are willing to listen to with that comes a lot of responsibility, which I take seriously. And at the same time I think in these beginning few months and now being boots on the ground in the U.K. I’m excited to just really get to know more about the different communities here, smaller organizations we’re working on the same causes that I’ve always been passionate about under this umbrella. And and also being able to go around the commonwealth I think is just just the beginning of that.”

This was apparently a lie or at least somewhat deceptive. According to Phil Dampier, Meghan never really intended on getting to know more about the United Kingdom or its “different communities.”

He told Fabulous: “I don’t buy this that they didn’t help to protect Meghan and I don’t buy she was driven out by racism.

“I don’t think her heart was really in it.

“When you look at some of the projects she’s got involved with and they were seemingly planning a couple of years ago.

“I personally think she never intended to stay in the royal family.

“I’m afraid that blaming members of the royal family and courtiers and how they were treated is just an excuse for what they have done and to justify what they’ve done.”

In order to justify moving to California, Harry and Meghan have twisted the royal family’s offer for the actress to continue working into something negative.

“That was right at the beginning,” Prince Harry explained to Oprah, “when she wasn’t going to get security, when members of my family were suggesting that she carries on acting, because there was not enough money to pay for her, and all this sort of stuff. Like, there were some real obvious signs before we even got married that this was going to be really hard.” 

Perhaps they all knew what Harry has failed to see, that Meghan Markle was clearly never interested in royal life or the U.K. Instead, she was always going to use the royal title to make her grand Hollywood debut.
